The Loyd Lindsay Rooms is a village hall facility serving the local communities of Ardington, Lockinge and the wider Wantage area.
Our out-of-town location means we’re easy to find, quick to access and have an abundance of on-site parking. Suitable for classes that require plenty of space (Pilates and Yoga for example), as well as training sessions, family gatherings and team meetings.

Family gatherings
Whether it’s a 90th birthday party, an annual family get-together, a special wedding anniversary or a funeral gathering, the Loyd Lindsay Rooms is an easy-to-access, flexible space set in beautiful surroundings – less than 10 minutes from the centre of Wantage.

Training, corporate away days and meetings
If you’re bringing together people from multiple locations, or just need to get away from the office for some extra head space, the Loyd Lindsay Rooms provides flexible accommodation for up to 135 people.
Less than 10 minutes from the centre of Wantage, our Main Hall can seat up to 90 theatre style, and can also be divided into 3 smaller spaces on request. Our Dining Room & Conference Room are also available for smaller meetings. Refreshments and lunch can be pre-ordered and delivered on request – or simply pop out for some fresh air to The Grocer Chef shop/cafe or the cosy Boar’s Head. A location with a story…
Built by Lady Wantage as a memorial to her husband, the original Loyd Lindsay Rooms featured a bath house, as well as a village hall and kitchen – it cost 3d to take a bath in one of the three public baths provided!
The Rooms have been refurbished and extended several times over the years, including in the late 1980s, after which Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother re-opened the Rooms on 26th May 1990.
