Booking & Availability
Is my date held once I enquire?
Once availability is confirmed, your date can be provisionally reserved. Bookings are secured upon receipt of your completed booking form and deposit payment.
How far in advance can I book?
Bookings can be made well in advance, subject to availability. We recommend inquiring early for peak periods such as summer weekends and December dates.
Can I view the venue before booking?
Yes, viewings can be arranged by appointment only. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time.
What rooms are included in my booking?
Room access depends on the type of booking you require:
- Exclusive hire includes use of all rooms.
- Smaller bookings may use individual rooms.
This will be confirmed during the inquiry process.
Will there be other events going on in the Loyd Lindsay Rooms at the same time as mine?
Possibly, although of course this depends on what other bookings we have on the day of your event. If you require exclusive access to the building, you will need to book the venue as a whole. Please visit our exclusive hire page.
Deposits & Payments
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, a non-refundable booking deposit is required to secure bookings. Your date is only confirmed once the deposit has been received.
Is there a damage to the property deposit?
For private functions, a damage security deposit is required. This is refundable after the event, provided no damage, loss or excessive cleaning has occurred or is required.
When is full payment due?
Full payment of all hire fees is required 30 days before the event unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Are there any additional charges?
Additional fees may apply for extended hours, additional staffing requirements, or specific event arrangements. Any applicable charges will be clearly outlined before confirmation.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms will be outlined in your booking confirmation and terms and conditions of hire.
Suitability & Event Type
Can you accommodate 18th/21st birthday parties?
Due to past experience and the potential for damage to the property, we regret that we no longer take bookings for 18th and 21st birthday parties.
Do you allow bouncy castles?
No, our insurance does not cover bouncy castles.
Is there a licensed bar?
Yes, the venue operates a licensed staffed bar, which can be made available depending on the type of event. Details can be discussed during the booking process.
Can you arrange catering for me?
We can provide you the list of recommended catering companies who are happy to supply an event at the Loyd Lindsay Rooms. Our kitchen is available to hire for an additional fee if you wish to do your own catering. Please include catering details in your enquiry so we can advise accordingly.
Practical Information
Is there parking available?
Yes, there is good on-site parking available directly adjacent to the venue for guests attending events and classes.
Is WiFi available?
Yes. We will provide you with the necessary WiFi password after you have confirmed your booking.
Can I arrive before my booking time?
We allow 15 minutes before each booking, to give you time to get in the door and – for smaller events – get set up. For example, if you have booked the hall for 10:00 – 11:00am, you may arrive any time after 09:45am.
Do I have to leave as soon as my booking is up?
You must leave the premises a maximum of 15 minutes after your booking finishes. For example, if you have booked the hall for 10:00 – 11:00am, you must leave by 11:15am.
Can I let myself in or will someone else be in attendance?
There is a keypad system for entry to the Rooms. You will be provided with an access code, which will remain active for the duration of your booking and allow you to access the building independently or the Venue Manager will be there to meet you.
Who is responsible for cleaning?
We ask that you leave the venue as you found it, in a clean and tidy condition – we frequently have other events happening the same day. This includes our kitchen. If excessive cleaning is required a fee may be charged.
Who is responsible for setting up/tidying away tables & chairs etc?
We will discuss your requirements and prepare rooms prior to your arrival, whenever possible.
